The Mosquito Men's Freeride Snowboard

The shortest model in Nidecker's surf-inspired quiver, the Mosquito is made for ripping into bottom turns, hacking lips and getting pitted. It’s a pow-focused craft that thrives when ridden off the back foot, but its nimble nature makes it surprisingly versatile. From January tree lines to icy groomers or spring slush, the Mosquito’s compact outline – combined with an aggressive sidecut – keeps you cornering on a dime. A Surfy Camrock profile features lively camber between the feet that merges seamlessly into an extended rocker at the nose, boosting float and helping you make it through the bumpiest of sections. Like your favourite surf stick, it weighs next to nothing thanks to a poplar/paulownia core that’s the lightest in their range. They’ve glassed this template with a unique combination of triax and biax fibres that deliver response and playfulness in equal measure, wrapping the topsheet around the rail in a precise build They call Nidactive Construction. Together with the slim ABS sidewall, this exclusive technology transfers even more power into the edge and provides a finish straight out of the shaping bay. See you out the back!

Features

  • Absorbnid is an innovative top layer designed to absorb unwanted vibrations. This allows Nidecker to develop responsive, dynamic boards that still give you a smooth and fatigue free ride.
  • With 6 rows of inserts every 2 cm, this insert combination allows you to adjust your stance to the optimum position, and works with all bindings on the market. Nidecker's reference stance is the second narrowest position possible.
  • The result of extensive testing with Nidecker's riders and engineers, their Triax laminate is oriented at 45° to the board, and contains different glass densities. This provides consistent torsional flex, better pop, and more reactivity on every turn.
  • Nidecker's lightest core – featuring three different wood types. The Light Core is a perfect combination of paulownia for lightness, poplar for pop and responsiveness, and hardwood beech stringers along the edges to increase core durability, pop and protection from edge impacts.
  • Produced with carbon nanoparticles, the N-9000 has a very dense molecular structure, which makes it Nidecker's fastest, most durable base material.
  • Strategic placement of carbon fiber from the tail to the rear inserts, and from the nose to the front inserts, resulting in a more reactive board, with increased pop and stiffness. Its vibration dampening qualities make it ideal for more aggressive riding in all conditions.
  • This new construction really put Nidecker's experience and expertise to the test during r&d and production. The precision required to assemble the different material layers is measured in tenths of millimeters. They use a cap construction for the nose & tail, while the riding section features a 2mm sidewall with a machine-rounded core to obtain optimum fluid flow properties and power transfer to the rails.
